Georgia Men's Basketball: Dalen Ridgnal enters NCAA transfer portal

Georgia men’s basketball forward Dalen Ridgnal has entered his name into the NCAA student-athlete transfer portal, per a report by Dawgs247s’ writer Jordan D. Hill.
The news was first reported by VerbalCommits.com.
Ridgnal averaged 2.7 points per game for the Bulldogs during the 2021-22 season. The 6-foot-7, 200-pound forward also averaged 2.9 rebounds per contest in his junior campaign.
The Kansas City, Mo., native committed to UGA on May 4, 2021. He joined the team shortly after and played in 28 games this past season.
Before his move to Athens, Ridgnal played at Cowley College in Arkansas City, Kansas. In two seasons with the Tigers, he started 47 of 60 games played and averaged a double-double of 18.6 points per game and 11.7 rebounds per game. He also collected 120 steals, 118 blocks and 112 assists.
Ridgnal started his high school career at Rockhurst in Kansas City. During his sophomore campaign, he averaged 5.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest for the Hawklets. The following season, Ridgnal averaged 9.1 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game to help Rockhurst compile a 22-6 record, a district title and reach the Elite Eight round of Missouri’s Class 5A state tournament.
He transferred to Lincoln Academy in Suwanee, Ga. for his senior season. He played alongside current Bulldogs’ guard Cam McDowell in 2018-19, helping the Bulldogs compile a 22-5 overall record.
He is the second Georgia player to spark interest in the transfer portal in the last week. It was reported over the weekend that Bulldogs’ leading scorer Kario Oquendo (2021-22) is expected to enter his name into the portal soon. All of this comes after the program fired former head coach Tom Crean and hired Florida men’s basketball coach Mike White in the last two weeks.
