MBB: Bulldogs grind out a 65-61 win against Bucknell

ATHENS — Georgia (3-1) gutted out a 65-61 win over Bucknell (2-2) on Friday night at Stegeman Coliseum.
The Bulldogs defeated the Bison without preseason All-SEC player and their second-leading scorer, Kario Oquendo, who was ruled out before the start of the game with a sore knee injury.
Instead, it was Terry Roberts who led Georgia on a night when the shots weren’t falling.
The Bradley transfer had a team-high 20 points, nine rebounds and six rebounds in Friday’s victory. Roberts also had two steals in 31 total minutes played against Bucknell.
The Bulldogs couldn’t buy a bucket for most of the game. They shot a season’s worst 33.3 percent from the field, including a 28.6 percent mark in the first half. They still found a way to grind it out and shoot 38. 5 percent in the second half, which was good enough for the win.
