ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia redshirt freshman receiver Ladd McConkey has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week following the Bulldogs’ 34-10 win at No. 18 Auburn, according to a league announcement.
This marks the eighth weekly honor for the Bulldogs this season and the first for McConkey in his career. McConkey, a native of Chatsworth, Ga., posted career highs of five catches for 135 yards and a touchdown to pace the Bulldogs’ offense during their sixth win of the year. His performance included a career-long 60-yard touchdown in the third quarter that put the game out of reach for the Tigers at 24-3.
