First-Year Profile: Monroe Freeling

Georgia signed the nation’s No. 2 recruiting overall class in 2023, per 247Sports. The Bulldogs inked 26 players from the class of 2023, so over the next month, Dawg-Watch.com will be looking at Georgia’s incoming freshmen in a series called “First-Year Profile.”
Next, we look at five-star offensive tackle Monroe Freeling.
Ranking: Freeling is rated as the nation’s No. 32 overall prospect, No. 5 offensive tackle, and No. 1 prospect out of South Carolina in the 2023 recruiting class, per On3.com.
Height/Weight: 6-foot-7, 300 pounds
Story: Freeling, who is from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, was a huge get for Georgia. He took a couple of official visits to other schools but committed to the Bulldogs on Aug. 29, 2022. He then signed his official letter of intent on Dec. 9 and was an early enrollee. Freeling participated in spring camp and played in the G-Day scrimmage.
Freeling is a massive human and played basketball as well at Oceanside Collegiate Academy. His dominance on the gridiron transitioned to the hardwood, where he played center. According to On3, Freeling is known for his “high-flying dunks” on the court. That should bode well as he’s very athletic and it will show in UGA’s upcoming fall camp.
