First-Year Profile: C.J. Allen

Georgia signed the nation’s No. 2 recruiting overall class in 2023, per 247Sports. The Bulldogs inked 26 players from the class of 2023, so over the next month, Dawg-Watch.com will be looking at Georgia’s incoming freshmen in a series called “First-Year Profile.”
Next, we look at four-star inside linebacker C.J. Allen.
Ranking: Allen was the No. 36 overall prospect in the class of 2023, the No. 6 linebacker, and the No. 4 player from Georgia, according to the industry-generated On3.com rankings.
Height/Weight: 6-foot-1, 225 pounds
Story: Allen chose the Bulldogs over several other Southeastern Conference programs such as Florida and Tennessee. He took a visit on June 3, 2022, and committed a few weeks later. From that point on, Allen shut his recruitment down and signed on Dec. 3, 2022. He then enrolled and went through bowl practices, but also participated in spring camp.
Allen, a Barnesville, Ga., native, played at Lamar County Comprehensive High School. He totaled a team-leading 84 tackles during his senior year for the Trojans. In 2021, as a junior, Allen was the Region 3-AA Player of The Year. He played on both sides of the ball. Allen also rushed for a total of 1,080 yards and 16 touchdowns, averring 9.6 yards per carry. He was also credited with 91 tackles and three interceptions while on defense.
Allen was a multi-sport athlete. He also played basketball and was on the track-and-field team.
