Recruiting: UGA gets commitment from 3-star defensive lineman Shone Washington
Georgia got a huge (literally) commitment from 3-star defensive lineman Shone Washington on Monday evening.
The 6-foot-3, 297-pound interior lineman announced his pledge to the Bulldogs via Twitter.

A former LSU commit, Washington chose Georgia over several other Power 5 programs, including Florida, Alabama, Texas and USC. The New Orleans, La. native is the Bulldogs’ 23rd commitment in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Georgia defensive line coach Tray Scott was the lead recruiter and has pursued Washington since receiving his offer in June.
Currently, he is ranked the nation’s No. 454 overall prospect, No. 69 defensive lineman and No. 2 player in Louisiana, per the 247Sports Composite.
Georgia offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran was a teammate of Washington’s at Warren Easton, which may have helped sway his decision.

He joins a pair of four-stars in Keithan “Bear” Alexander and Tyre West, who are Georgia’s other defensive linemen commits in the 2022 recruiting cycle.
