BREAKING: Georgia's Todd Monken accepts position with Baltimore Ravens

Georgia’s Todd Monken has accepted a job with the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens as its offensive coordinator, according to a tweet put out by the organization on Tuesday morning.
Monken spent the past three seasons serving as the Bulldogs’ offensive coordinator, helping lead them to back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
The 56-year-old offensive guru also helped develop two-time national champion and 2022 Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Stetson Bennett, who broke Georgia’s single-season passing yards record this past season. Bennett completed 68.3 percent of his attempts for 4,127 yards and 27 touchdowns during his super senior season for the Bulldogs.
In 2022, Georgia ranked fifth nationally in total offense, averaging 501 yards per game under Monken. The Bulldogs also finished the year tied for fourth with Alabama in scoring offense, totaling 41.1 points per contest. Finally, Georgia had the nation’s top red-zone offense (97.6 percent), while ranking fifth in third-down conversion rate (51.1 percent).
Monken was named a finalist for the Broyles Award this past season, which goes to the nation’s top assistant coach, but former TCU offensive coordinator Garrett Riley won it.
He spoke to the media before the Bulldogs’ win over Ohio State in the Peach Bowl about his career.
"At some point in my career, I thought I knew exactly what I wanted next year, in five years, in 10 years, really what I wanted. I don’t know if it’s just getting old or the appreciation for the job you have, but I don’t control opportunities that come my way,” Monken said on Dec. 28. “I would never say ‘never’ to anything. I would never say no to anything, but I love where I’m at because I believe we’re going to win and I believe in the head coach. So those are all huge factors in where you decide to stay as a coach.”
Monken has previous NFL coaching experience and is well-respected in the pro ranks.
In 2019, he served as the offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns and spent the three previous years from 2016-18 in the same position for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Prior to that, Monken was a head coach at Southern Mississippi from 2013-16. He also did two stints at Oklahoma State from 2002-04 and 2011-12 as offensive coordinator, passing-game coordinator and wide receivers coach. He also coached at LSU for two years (2005-06) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (2007-10) in various roles.
Monken was a graduate assistant at Grand Valley State and Notre Dame in the early 1990s. From 1993-99, he coached at Eastern Michigan in three different roles before taking a job at Louisiana Tech, where he was the running backs/ wide receivers coach from 2001-02.
