Bowers ready to take on 'next thing'

Georgia tight end Brock Bowers is probably one of the most soft-spoken individuals on the team.
However, it’s not easy to believe, especially because he had a historic record-setting freshman season for the defending national champion Bulldogs in 2021.
Bowers had a team-high 56 receptions for 882 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2021. He also had a rushing score for Georgia last season. Bowers was an AP and Coaches’ All-SEC First Team selection, plus was named the SEC Freshman of the Year.
Bowers doesn’t his accomplishments as a big deal. He just goes out and plays hard.
“I was just kind of taking every game for what it was and just working hard throughout the weeks. Halfway through the season, I kind of looked back and I was like, 'I'm actually doing pretty good,'” Bowers said. “It was kind of like a surprise looking back at it. I don't really feel like I did anything special, I don't think.”
Bowers, a California native, arrived in Athens as an early enrollee in December 2020. He went through spring camp a few months later and played in the annual spring game.
