Georgia outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari has been selected by the New York Giants as the No. 50 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
In three seasons at UGA, the Marietta, Ga. native racked up 71 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, three pass deflections and five forced fumbles.
In 2020, Ojulari led Georgia and the SEC with nine total sacks. He also finished his redshirt sophomore campaign with 29 quarterback pressures, which was the most by any Georgia defender last season.
At 6-foot-3, 240-pounds, Ojulari is quick off the edge and was a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks at the collegiate level. Out of high school, he was a four-star recruit and redshirted his first year in Athens. He didn’t really make a big splash until the end of his redshirt year in 2018.
He wrapped up the 2018 season with four tackles, with one for a loss. Ojulari played extensively in Georgia’s matchup against Texas during the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl, and he recorded three total tackles in the loss.
In 2019, Ojulari had a breakout year as he totaled 5.5 sacks and was a co-winner of the program’s Most Improved Defensive Player award. He had 13 starts as a sophomore and finished the season with 36 total tackles.
Last season, he managed to be named to the second-team All-SEC honors and helped the Bulldogs to an 8-2 record. In 2020, he was also a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award, which goes annually to the nation’s top defensive player.
