4-star Bear Alexander commits to Georgia
The Georgia recruiting train just keeps on rolling as 4-star defensive Kethian “Bear” Alexander re-committed to the program on Thursday morning, per his social media.
The 6-foot-3, 325-pound defensive tackle announced his pledge to play for head coach Kirby Smart a day after 5-star Mykel Williams announced that he was de-committing from USC and was going to become a Bulldog. Earlier this week, Alexander’s teammate at IMG Academy, 3-star offensive lineman Aliou Bah, committed to Georgia over Florida State.
Alexander previously committed to Georgia in June but decided to weigh his options after the NCAA loosened its COVID-19 restrictions related to recruiting. It was thought that Alexander was a foregone conclusion after de-committing from the Bulldogs as Texas A&M picked up a lot of steam However, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
He is rated the nation’s No. 39 overall player, No. 6 defensive lineman and No. 8 player in Florida, per the 247Sports Composite. Georgia currently has the top recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports. The Bulldogs now have 22 commitments in the class of 2022, highlighted by quarterback Gunner Stockton, athlete Malaki Starks, Williams and Alexander.
